We are a catalyst for the minds that are shaping chemistry’s future. The Royal Society of Chemistry is an international, non-profit organisation that connects chemical scientists with each other, with other scientists, and with society as a whole. Founded in 1841 and based in London, we have an international membership of 50,000 and a respected publishing and knowledge business. We use our surplus to give thousands of chemical scientists the support and resources they need to make vital advances in chemical knowledge.

Innovating industry

Not all chemists work in white coats in labs: chemistry impacts just about every industry and area of business. It’s behind the extraordinary innovation and technological advances that foster entrepreneurial spirit and regularly transform the industrial world.
