We are a catalyst for the minds that are shaping chemistry’s future. The Royal Society of Chemistry is an international, non-profit organisation that connects chemical scientists with each other, with other scientists, and with society as a whole. Founded in 1841 and based in London, we have an international membership of 50,000 and a respected publishing and knowledge business. We use our surplus to give thousands of chemical scientists the support and resources they need to make vital advances in chemical knowledge.

Challenging opinions

Chemistry uses scientific evidence to shake up attitudes, influence changes in our behaviour and find solutions to make things better or more efficient, whether it’s what you eat and drink, how you travel or what you need to be well.
